It’s almost over. Yesterday I passed my last two exams of Field Artillery Basic Officer Leaders Course. I don’t graduate until the 29th, but I have met all the graduation requirements and officially consider myself BRANCH QUALIFIED!!
For all of you non-Army types, this means I have all the knowledge and skills required to be functional when I report to my duty assignment for the Big Show. Realistically, my classmates and I have only the basis of basic skills required to enter our assignments. Once we get there, and over the …

Here is our latest live fire Call for Fire. We actually got to use Time and VT fuzes, which makes artillery rounds explode in the air above the enemy. Basically raining pure destruction.

Lately I look back fondly on the days of being a cadet, of first joining the Army, and wonder how, or if, things would be different if I had known this is what I was getting myself into.
